What this is
A commercial Christmas tree is a built structure
The distinction matters before anything else, because two very different services get called the same thing.
A commercial display tree is engineered. A steel frame is anchored or ballasted, foliage sections attach to it, and lighting and decoration are installed section by section as the tree goes up. It arrives on a truck, is built on site, and comes apart the same way in January.
That is what makes 30 and 40 foot trees possible in places where no cut tree could stand: a hotel atrium, a mall centre court, a plaza that gets wind off open ground.
What it is not: this is not decorating a live tree, and it is not a retail lot selling cut trees. If your interest is lighting the mature trees already on the property, that is tree wrapping, a different service with different economics.
Most properties that buy a display tree also light the building around it, because a lit tree in front of a dark building reads as unfinished.

Sizes, footprint and power
Height
Roughly 12 feet for an interior lobby through 60 feet and beyond for a plaza or municipal square. Indoors the ceiling decides; outdoors the footprint and wind exposure decide.
Footprint
Base diameter runs to about half the tree height as a working rule, so a 30 foot tree wants a 15 foot circle plus walking clearance. Confirmed on site.
Indoor and outdoor
Both. Outdoor trees are specified for wind exposure and anchored or ballasted to the location, which is the part that gets skipped by vendors who only do interiors.
Power
Most interior trees run from building circuits. Larger exterior trees may need a dedicated supply. We identify the supply point during the site assessment.
Design
Theming and ornament scale
Scale is what separates a commercial tree from a large domestic one. Ornaments sized for a living room disappear at 30 feet.
We size ornaments, ribbon and garland to the viewing distance. A tree seen from across a plaza needs mass and contrast; a lobby tree seen from six feet away needs detail that holds up close.
Colour direction can follow a classic warm white and red scheme, or tie to the property's own palette. Hotels and corporate campuses often want the tree to read as part of the brand rather than as a seasonal exception.
The topper is worth deciding early, because on a large exterior tree it is the element that reads from the furthest away and often needs its own lighting and mounting.
Lighting density is a design decision too, not a fixed spec. A tree intended as the anchor of a district gets lit differently from one that shares a lobby with existing architectural lighting.

Site assessment
We measure the space: ceiling height for interiors, footprint and wind exposure for exteriors, and where the power actually comes from.
Design proposal
Height, silhouette, colour direction and ornament scale, presented against your space rather than a catalogue page.
Delivery and assembly
The frame goes up first, then foliage, then lighting and decoration. Larger exterior trees are built from a lift over one or two days.
In-season checks
We come back through the season to check lighting sections, anchoring and any ornament loss in high-traffic areas.
Removal and storage
The tree is disassembled on a scheduled January date and stored inventoried in our warehouse, ready for next season.

Lighting the tree
Tree lighting is its own scope
Lighting a commercial tree is not the same job as lighting a building. The lighting is installed as the tree is assembled, section by section, so the wiring disappears into the structure instead of being draped over a finished tree.
That is also why a tree bought from a supplier and lit by a general contractor tends to look wrong: the lighting was added afterwards. Sizing, power and installation questions
Are these real trees or manufactured display trees?
Manufactured display trees. They are engineered structures: a steel frame carrying foliage sections, lighting and decoration, built on site and disassembled after the season. This is not live tree decorating and it is not a retail tree lot. If you want live landscape trees lit, that is tree wrapping.
What sizes are available?
Commercial display trees typically run from about 12 feet for an interior lobby up to 60 feet or more for a plaza or municipal square. The practical limit indoors is ceiling height, and outdoors it is footprint, anchoring and wind exposure rather than the tree itself.
How much floor space does a commercial tree need?
As a working rule the base diameter is roughly half the height, so a 30 foot tree needs about a 15 foot circle plus clearance for people to walk around it. We confirm the exact footprint during the site assessment, including any anchoring or ballast the location requires.
What are the power requirements?
It depends on the tree size and the lighting density, and it is one of the first things we check on site. Most interior trees run from standard building circuits; larger exterior trees may need a dedicated circuit. We identify the supply point during the assessment so there are no surprises on install day.
How long does installation take?
A lobby tree is usually a single day. Large exterior trees are built over one to two days, frame first, then foliage, then lighting and decoration. We schedule around your trading hours where the space stays open to the public.
Where is the tree stored between seasons?
In our warehouse, inventoried and ready for the next season. Nothing is stored on your property, which for most lobbies and plazas is the deciding factor.
Can the tree be lit to match our brand colours?
Yes. Colour direction, ornament palette, ribbon and topper are all part of the design conversation, and they can be tied to a property brand or an existing interior scheme rather than a default red and green.
